Since its inception in 2001, Medicsight has focused product development around areas of greatest clinical need and has concentrated on two key disease areas – colorectal and lung cancer. These conditions are the leading cause of premature death in the western world and between them are responsible for over 1.9 million deaths globally per year.¹

There is increasing evidence in both areas to suggest that early detection leads to improved patient outcomes and greater life expectancy and for this reason, Medicsight have invested in developing ColonCAD™ and LungCAD™. Medicsight's CAD software automatically highlights suspicious lesions on CT scans of the colon and lung, thereby detecting potentially serious lesions at an earlier stage when treatment is more likely to be successful. 

As part of their on-going commitment to radiologists and to improving the early detection of colorectal cancer, Medicsight have developed an automated CO₂ insufflator for use with CT colonography procedures. The MedicCO₂LON has been designed for optimal colonic distension during CT colonography, whilst minimising patient discomfort.
